Important notices

Dear EDWARDSTOWN FAMILY,

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide a club update in response to the current situation regarding COVID-19.

We know that we are far from alone in dealing with challenges presented by the virus and that you are almost certainly confronting issues within your own workplaces, schools and various other sporting and community groups.

We also know that this is a rapidly changing environment and there are some measures proposed should the threat of infection increase, that we haven’t dealt with previously.

As you would expect, at Edwardstown we are undertaking a great deal of contingency planning to be prepared for such an unprecedented situation, with a key focus on understanding and addressing the impact on you who remain at the forefront of everything we do.

The importance of this support cannot be overstated as we prepare for the challenges we may face in the coming months.

In line with a national decision on Community Football by the AFL, SANFL is strongly recommending that all affiliated leagues in SA cease any play until May 31, including training. As a result the Adelaide Football League will use the 31 May as its benchmark for review.

The Board will meet in the coming days and we will provide as much information as possible through our social media channels & emails.

2020 will see us all face various challenges, it will take all of us to work together to rise above these challenges we are facing as a Family, Club, Game and as a Community.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Stay Safe.

Eddie Dessmann
President
Edwardstown Football Club
